It's Just Like the Ocean
I was listening to one of Brian Regan's old routines where he talked about living in a tiny apartment and having to keep a goldfish in a shotglass ... he puts a pebble in the glass and the fish is thinking, "Yeah, this is just like the ocean." Anyway, it prompted this.

This was done principally as an exercise in Photoshop effects layers. For years I used Gimp for postwork, mainly because, well, it's free. And I'm cheap. But the Gimp really does do a pretty good job.

However, I decided a little while ago to invest in PS, and now I'm trying to get the hang of it. It's a lot more complex than the Gimp, and I know it will take me a while to get comfortable with it. But I'm really liking it so far. This image, and my last one, "Bugatti Racer", were my first really serious forays into some of the Photoshop effects.

*Edit: decided I needed a grittier look for the image.
**Edit: Okay, last update, I promise. No more changes.

Bluegrass Trifecta
I know, a purist's trifecta of bluegrass instruments would probably substitute a fiddle for the guitar. But I'm partial to the guitar. :)

I had told myself I wouldn't be doing anything more until my eyes got better, but after finding the mandolin I had been looking for, I couldn't help myself.

Sax Player
Was looking for a mandolin model and came across this saxophone by Herminio Nieves on ShareCG. Knew immediately that I wanted to do something like this with it. Still experimenting; this is one version of what I've been working on. Monochrome seemed to work best.

This is pretty rough, largely because I'm just coming off of eye surgery a few days ago and my vision is really poor right now, particularly for detail work. So I hope you'll forgive the flaws.
